WHAT IS GESTATIONAL SURROGACY?
In this type of surrogacy, the surrogate mother is not genetically related to the child, the intended mother’s eggs or donor eggs are fertilized by the intended father’s or donor sperm via In-vitro fertilization (IVF). This process allows Intended Parents, who may have difficulty carrying a pregnancy, to have a child with their own gametes or with the help of Donor Eggs or Sperms.
WHAT IS TRADITIONAL SURROGACY?
In this type of surrogacy, the surrogate mother is genetically related to the child, using her own eggs fertilized by the intended father’s or donor sperm via insemination. The process involves screening, artificial insemination (IUI), pregnancy, and post-birth legal procedures to terminate parental rights and establish parentage.
